I may never see tomorrow; there's no written guarantee.
And things that happened yesterday belong to history.

I cannot predict the future, I cannot change the past.
I have just the present moment, I must treat it as my last.

I must use this moment wisely for it soon will pass away,
And be lost to me forever as part of yesterday.

I must exercise compassion, help the fallen to their feet,
Be a friend unto the friendless, make an empty life complete.

The unkind things I do today may never be undone,
And friendships that I fail to win may nevermore be won.

I may not have another chance on bended knee to pray,
And thank God with humble heart for giving me this day.

Home Remedies to INCREASE HEIGHT AND WEIGHT [092 of 140]

The bone structure must remain elastic if one is to become taller. One must take exercise regularly. I suggest the following exercises will help one gain height:
(i) Stand in an open space in “attention” position. In hale deeply through the nose and extend yours arms lifting then slowly up to your shoulders. Keep your arms straight. Hold that position for some time and then take the arms backwards as far as they will go. No inhale again the release your breath slowly, resuming the former position.

(ii) Stand with your arms straight at right angles to your body. Lift the arms vertically and then bring them to the level of the shoulders. Do not exhale in the process, but stand on your toes, lifting your heels as far as they will go. Exhale slowly after some moments and resume the earlier position.

(iii) Extend your arms forward up to the level of the shoulders. Inhale and fill your lungs to about one-third of their capacity. Wait for a few moments and then take your arms above your head. Now move them in a circular motion-taking them behind your back and in the former position again. Exhale slowly.

Take to a diet for three to four days. Take 100 to 150 grams of bran with the fruits. The best way will be to mix bran with a fruit like papaya. It will increase appetite, improve the digestion and remove costiveness, if any. One will tend to eat more and the capacity to assimilate food will be increased.
Foods like flour, rice honey, raisins, figs, dates, butter, and etc. can help increase weight. Sweat substances can increase weight than fatty foods. Those wishing to increase their weight should become pure vegetarians and eat fruits, rice, flour, fresh vegetables, bananas, dry fruits, butter, and milk. Germinated wheat is also extremely beneficial if taken in the form of gruel mixed with hot milk.
Take plenty of water, exercise and fast once a week.

Get Rid of Puffy Eyes

Home Remedies to Prevent Puffy Eyes

Puffy eyes are a condition where the eyes begin swelling due to different factors. The skin around the eyes is very thin and is full of blood vessels which make it very sensitive.

Usually puffy eyes will go away after a little bit of time or some treatments done at home. However, puffy eyes are also symptoms of other eye conditions that may require examination by an eye care professional. In cases where puffy eyes are severe and persistent or are accompanied by pain, discomfort, blurry vision, or other conditions, an optometrist should be contacted about the problem.

We know a man who has so much puffiness under his eyes, it looks like his nose is wearing a saddle.

One reason for puffiness may be an excessive amount of salt in one's diet. Salt causes water retention and water retention causes puffiness. What can be done about it? Stay away from salt.

Here are some home remedies

· When you want to look your best, set your clock an hour earlier than usual. Give yourself that extra time to depuff. Either that, or sleep sitting up so the puffs don't get a chance to form under your eyes.

· If you already have puffs, wet a couple of chamomile tea bags with tepid water and put them on your closed eyelids. Relax that way for 15 minutes.

· Fill a small bowl with iced water or ice-cold milk. Soak a cotton wool pad with the liquid and lie down with the dampened pads over your eyes. Replace the pads as soon as they become warm. Continue for 15 minutes. As well as reducing puffiness, this treatment will brighten the whites of your eyes.

· Thin cucumber slices used as compresses over closed eyes will relieve sore, puffy eyes.

· Avoid salty foods, which cause the under eye area (and the rest of your body ) to hold fluid.

· Soothing Eye creams with aloe and Vitamin E can be applied to the eyes

5 steps to happiness

The happier you are, the healthier you are - and the better your mental health. So any way to improve your mood has got to be good, right?

Try these 5 happiness tips from research scientist and practising psychologist Dr Linda Papadopoulos:

1. Decide what makes you happy: spend 15 minutes writing a list of things you know will make you happy - is it connecting with friends, in person or on-line? Working on your morning jog time personal best? Baking fabulous cakes? Once you have your list, aim to do one activity each day. Then celebrate how good that makes you feel.

2. Scream, shout - let it all out! Dancing and making noise has a positive effect on our physical health due to increased endorphins and heart rate.

3. Define your own rewards: You don't have to defer to the cliché of champagne when you want to celebrate - if you want to reward yourself with a peanut butter and jam sandwich, or by draining a box of chocolates, that's just fine.

4. Get people involved: Happiness is infectious, and inviting your nearest and dearest to join you as you celebrate means you can spread your good mood around.

5. Create a "happy tracker": Every time anything, however small, makes you happy, write it down somewhere you'll see it often. You'll be surprised how quickly the list grows, and how many things you have to celebrate, and in not too long just looking at the list will be a small cause for celebration in itself.
A report from Dr Linda Papadopoulos in association with bingocams found that the positive energy generated when we 'let go' and celebrate good experiences in life could be the simplest way to excellent mental well-being.

Home Remedies for ECZEMA [088 of 140]

ECZEMA

Eczema also called as dermatitis, is a group of skin disorders. Atopic eczema, allergic contact dermatitis, irritant contact dermatitis, infantile seborrhoeic eczema, adult seborrhoeic eczema, varicose eczema and discoid eczema are different types of eczema. Atopic dermatitis is the most common type of eczema. It mainly occurs among infants and small children. In more than 90% of cases, eczema is found to occur in children below 5 years of age. It is a non contagious disease.

Eczema is a skin condition characterized by redness, cracking, oozing and scaling of the skin. This may be caused by the extremes of heat and cold and even emotional stress. The patient usually complains of itching and burning in the skin, especially at the night. Sores appear on various parts of the body, but most often on the hands, feet, ears and legs. Eczema may come on at any time of life and in either sex. The commoner manifestations are erythema changing to papule, vesicle, crust, scale and fissure, with serous exudation. In chronic cases, thick scales accumulate.

This is the effect of local irritation by chemical, thermal, or mechanical agents in a hypersensitive individual, subject of an allergy or constitutional disabilities such as gout, chronic nephritis, rheumatism, local sepsis, dyspepsia, alcoholism, uterine disturbances also teething .in some cases heredity may be found.

Papules, vesicles and pustules with some degree of local oedema are found; exudation, crusting and scaling with inflammation of varying severity may be present. These tend to spread to the contiguous areas.

One or both cheeks of an infant or the ear, limbs or trunk are occasionally involved. In adults also similar papulo- vesicular eruptions appear. Sensations of burning, smarting, throbbing or itching are present, according to the acuteness of the process and severity of the inflammation.

When chronic the discharge diminishes or disappears, leaving a thickened, irregular, scaly patch, fading at the margins. The best way to take care of eczema at home is to keep dry, patchy skin moist and well lubricated. Children with eczema are most often allergic to eggs, milk, peanuts, wheat, soy, fish and tree nuts, although a child is usually allergic to only one or two of those foods.

Home Remedies for EARACHE [087 of 140]

EARACHE

The ear is one of the most important part of the human body and is divided into three different sections: The outer ear, the middle ear and the inner ear. Hearing and balance are the two main functions performed by the human ear. Each section of the ear is used either for hearing or for balance. The most sensitive part of the ear is the ear drum. Earache is a common problem among children and adults.

Symptoms for otitis externa and otitis media

Depending upon the symptoms we can know which section of the ear has problem. Both otitis externa and otitis media have different symptoms. Symptoms of otitis externa are mild itching or pain, swelling, thick discharge from the ear, hearing loss. The most common symptom of otitis media is mild pain in the ear. Besides this, some other symptoms are fever, hearing loss and occasional discharge from the ears. Infants may show symptoms like diarrhea, poor feeding, irritability and so on.

Otitis externa and Otitis media

The two main causes of earache are the infection of the outer ear and the middle ear called otitis externa and otitis media in medical parlance. Otitis externa is the skin infection of the ear canal which often occurs after swimming. It is also called swimmer's ear. Otitis media is the infection of the middle ear and eardrum. It is commonly seen in infants and children. Ear ache may also be caused due to ear infection or any ear disease, nose, mouth, or throat infection, injury to jaw bones, an insect in the ear, fungus growth in the ear, wax buildup in the ear and so on.

Use of garlic juice

Pour some garlic juice in the paining ear; its antibiotic qualities will help to relieve the pain. If your earache is due to rise in altitude than just chew gum or yawn. This will contract the muscles and open the Eustachian tubes. For swimmer's ear, put some mineral oil in both ears before going in the water. Apply some heat to your aching ear using a heating pad or a warm cloth. Put few drops of hydrogen peroxide in the aching ear. Put two drops of holy basil leaves’ juice in the aching ear.

Vitamin C Diet

Most commonly earache is a result of an ear infection. Take Vitamin C to boost your immune system. It is a natural antibiotic and antihistamine that helps to reduce inflammation and fever. Include zinc in your diet because it reduces ear infection. Certain foods, more commonly dairy products like milk, butter, cheese etc tend to aggravate ear infections, so it is better to avoid them during an ear infection.

Other suggestions

Clean your ear professionally regularly. This will remove all the dirt or any object which must be residing in and may cause problem later on. Use ear plugs during swimming to avoid water from entering your ear.

Home Remedies For Ear Pressure [086 of 140]

Ear Pressure

The key to relieving the pressure caused by airplane takeoffs and landings is chewing and swallowing.

· The American Academy of Otolaryngology in Rosemont, Illinois, advises that you should chew gum or suck on mints-whatever causes you to swallow more than usual. Stay awake as the plane ascends and descends so that you can consciously increase the amount of times you swallow.

· If you're sleepy, that's good. Hopefully, you'll start yawning, which is even better than swallowing because it activates the muscle that opens your eustachian tube. Then air can be forced in and out of your eustachian canal, and that's what relieves the pressure in your ears.

Other Ear Problems

Get the Bugs Out

· It happens! Not often, but once in a blue moon, an insect will get inside a person's ear. Since insects are attracted to light, if an insect gets in your ear, turn the ear toward the sun. Hopefully, the insect will fly out and away. If it occurs at night, shut off the lights in the room and shine a flashlight in your ear.

· If the insect in your ear doesn't respond to the light, pour 1 teaspoon of warm olive oil into your ear and hold it there a minute or two.

Then tilt your head the other way so that the oil and the bug come floating out.

If that doesn't work, gently fill your ear with warm water. That should push out the insect and the oil.

If none of this debugs you, get professional medical help to remove the insect.

Waxy Build-up Begone!

· Sprinkle black pepper into 1 tablespoon of warm corn oil, then dip a cotton ball into it and gently put the cotton into your ear. Remove the cotton after five minutes.

· Warm 1 tablespoon of 3% hydrogen peroxide. Put 10 drops in the ear and let it fizz there for three minutes. Then tilt your head so that the liquid runs out onto a tissue. The wax should be softened. Gently remove the wax with soft cotton. Repeat the procedure with the other ear.

Warm 2 teaspoons of sesame oil and put 1 teaspoon of oil in each ear. Be sure the oil is not not too hot. Gently plug the ear with a cotton ball, and allow the oil to float around for a while. Once the sesame oil softens the wax, you can wash out the ears completely. The results-no more oil, no more wax.
